With great pleasure, we would like to extend our heartfelt congratulations to our board member Christoph Schmidt on his outstanding success at the Science Dialog 2023 in Berlin! Christoph has won the coveted first prize in this year’s competition with his project titled “Quo vadis, Finanzverwaltung? Potenziale und Herausforderungen eines künftigen KI-Einsatzes” (Quo vadis, tax administration? Potentials and challenges of future AI applications).
The Science Dialog is a prestigious competition that has been taking place since 2019, aiming to connect science and practice in the field of administrative digitalization. On June 19, in Berlin, as part of the Zukunftskongress Staat & Verwaltung (Congress on the Future of State and Administration), Christoph Schmidt emerged as the winner, surpassing four other highly qualified finalists.
Christoph Schmidt’s project focuses on decision support and process automation in tax administration. It addresses both simplifying tax returns for taxpayers and optimizing auditing procedures in the tax office. By harnessing the power of artificial intelligence, new possibilities emerge, and Christoph Schmidt analyzes the potentials and challenges that lie ahead for tax administration.
Christoph Schmidt’s dedication and expertise have contributed to pushing the boundaries of what is possible and developing innovative solutions for a more efficient and future-oriented tax administration.
