Progressive digitization holds great opportunities for medium-sized law firms in particular, but also requires a considerable amount of resource commitment. The newly established Competence Center Audit Transformation (CCAT) is intended to support small and medium-sized enterprises in driving forward the digitalization of the services offered by law firms and the use of modern technologies. CCAT is an association of partners from technology and science as well as the innovative law firms BANSBACH, Ebner Stolz, Peters, Schönberger & Partner and RSM.
Audicon GmbH, itself a member of IDSt, is taking on the role of coordinator and supporter of the project.
CCAT receives scientific support from the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI). Prof. Dr. Peter Fettke, also a member of the IDSt, Prof. Dr. Peter Fettke, would like to use his many years of experience in the implementation of AI projects in the financial sector.
Stefan Groß, a partner at Peters, Schönberger and Partner and a member of the board at IDSt, points to the need to address AI: “We risk the continued existence of the profession if we don’t actively address issues like AI and, in particular, machine learning now.”
Since people and audit methodology play crucial roles in successful digitization projects alongside technology, CCAT wants to focus not only on the technological aspects of transformation, but also on the topics of people and methodology. In particular, the integration of data analyses into the audit process and the development of innovative forms of work are to be further developed in projects.
